Work-A-Thon 2017

Support Trinity's Work-a-Thon

Work-a-thon 2017 Logo
The Work-A-Thon is an opportunity for every student and family to get involved in not only supporting their school but showing Christ’s love to the Pittsburgh community. There are two parts to this effort:

  • Raise funds for Trinity: Students and families are encouraged to contact friends, family, and neighbors and ask them to sponsor them in the Work-A-Thon. The goal is to raise $25,000 in financial support for our school. This is an exceptional opportunity for students to show their love of Trinity!
  • On the first Thursday in May, Trinity students, staff, and parents volunteer their time and effort to assist non-profits, individuals, and communities throughout the region. Serving opportunities include sorting clothing and food at several pantries, spring cleaning and yard work at local churches and community centers, and entertaining and interacting with seniors in assisted living centers.
  • To make a donation, please click the "Donate Now" button above and put the student/family name in the "in honor of" section of the donation form. This will ensure the correct individuals receive credit.
  • Download your Work-A-Thon 2017 Family Packet (PDF).

Annual Fund 2016-17

Support Trinity's Annual Fund

Your gift to the Annual Campaign will help Trinity remain an exceptional Christian institution – an affordable one – for current students and future generations. We have made some recent changes to make the experience of classical Christian education at Trinity an even stronger experience:

  • To enhance our English program and further expose students to great literature, all students will participate in a school-wide poetry competition this winter.
  • Our middle and high school students have long enjoyed an assembly involving praise and worship, prayer, and a spiritual message. This year, we added a similar assembly for Kindergarten through 6th grade. The students and teachers have embraced this time.
  • We have enriched our fine arts program by increasing the frequency of music classes in the grammar school. Additionally, Mr. Mahtani has expanded the high school choir experience by creating a select choir. Both choirs will not only go out into the Pittsburgh community to share their talents, but they are also planning a trip to Chicago to perform and take in a musical.
  • Service has been an important component of a Trinity education for many years. The Work-A-Thon is held every spring. Last year, Trinity students volunteered 1,578 hours on this one day at local charities and community organizations. This year, the school as a whole is seeking to expand our service to others throughout the school year. The drama team took the fall production of Charlotte’s Web on the road to local preschools; Student Council led an effort to rake leaves at a small church in Wilkinsburg; and once again a few of our grammar classes will visit residents at a local retirement home. These are a sample of the service projects planned this year.
  • Not every family can afford to pay full tuition at Trinity. For the 2015-16 school year, we offered financial support to 32% of our students. We continue to seek ways to make classical Christian education affordable for as many families as possible.

We realize that our families sacrifice to pay tuition. However, the kinds of changes mentioned above can only carry on with additional support of our community. Please pray and consider how you may help us to continue Trinity’s legacy of educating the whole child; the child who will grow up well-educated and impact his family, his church, and his community for Christ.

Community Events

Annual Golf Tournament – This event is held each year in June. Trinity seeks business sponsorships for the event, donations of items for give aways, and lots of eager individuals for golfing! Last year Trinity raised over $10,000! Click here for the Trinity Golf page.

Annual Trivia Night – Each year Trinity holds a fun night of games and a silent auction. Students are asked to donate items for their class auction baskets, and families are asked to attend and bring family and friends to the event. In the fall of 2014, Trinity raised over $3,000! Click here for the Trinity Trivia page.

Endowment Fund The Trinity Endowment Fund is professionally invested and managed by an Endowment Committee, the Trinity School Board, and Staley Capital Advisers, Inc. The fund was begun in 2001, and currently distributes over $4,000 annually to the school budget. As of fall 2014, the Endowment Fund is valued at over $400,000. The goal of the fund is to benefit student scholarships, teacher salaries, technology, and updates to the facility. Your gift – of any amount – will be invested and continue to grow and bless the school for years to come.

Planned Giving

Many people who have given to Christian organizations throughout their lifetimes want to make sure that part of their estate will continue to support these causes when they are gone.

Planned gifts are a critical component of Trinity’s fundraising efforts. Recognizing this, Trinity has partnered with the Barnabas Foundation, a Christian financial organization, to assist you with these decisions.
As part of Trinity’s membership with Barnabas, you have free access to Barnabas’ attorneys to discuss planned giving. They are experts in estate planning, living wills, tax deferment and other tax issues, trusts, and even providing for your children after you are gone. They can do much more than simply help you support Trinity. While we have partnered with Barnabas, they will work with you and keep your best interests in focus.

Mission statement of the Barnabas Foundation: To encourage God-glorifying stewardship, based on Biblical principles, of material resources among Christians who actively support Barnabas Foundation members.
Feel free to contact Barnabas directly to set up a no-cost appointment with one of their attorneys. [click here]
